"Harir" means the cry of dog because of severity of cold.
At the eleventh night of Safar month of 38 A.H, the army of Shaam who were involved in the battle of Saffin, used to cry like dog because of the severity of cold. At this night, the battle became tough and Imam Ali (a.s) rode the roadster of the holy prophet, took the Zulfaghar [his special sword] and whenever he used to beat someone with his sword his say Allahuakbar and then one of the brave person of enemy was killed. The Zulfaghar, many times, was bent but Imam Ali (a.s) strained it buy his knee.
