Hazrat Salih (a.s) was living among Aad people. They were living with welfare and comfort until they became idolater and turpitude scattered among them. At this time, God sent Hadhrat Salih (a.s) who was from a noble family to guide them. Salih (a.s) was appointed as a prophet when he was 16 years old and he was among them until he was 120 years old and guided them but they did not accept him and they used to worship their idols that were 70 idols.
Salih (a.s) said: ask me something [a miracle] and I will ask God [to help me to show the miracle] then you confirm me or let me ask your gods [idols], if they could do what I said then I will leave here.
They assigned a day and in that day they brought the idols and said: O salih! Ask [whatever you want] from the idols. Salih (a.s) called their idols one by one but none of them responded him. At last, Salih said: now, it is your turn to ask me [whatever you want]. They said: let's go near that mountain then we will ask you. They went beside the mountain and they said: ask your God to bring us a red female camel out of this mountain which has a lot of pubes and is ten years old.
Salih (a.s) asked and the mountain made a loud sound and shook and after a while a camel went out with the properties that they had said. They said: ask your God to bring out this camel's child. Salih (a.s) asked and the child came out. Five people embraced and the other remained unfaithful. They said: it is talisman. They decided to kill the kill the camel.
They waylaid on the way of camel and when the camel went to drink water they invaded it and each of them beat it until it was killed. They all gathered and ate its meat. They until killed its child and divided its meat between themselves and they decided to kill Salih (a.s) but God the Almighty protected his prophet (a.s).
God said to Salih (a.s): I will descend my torment three days later. Salih (a.s) informed his people.
After three days, Gabriel (a.s) descended at midnight and screamed on them. Their ears became deaf and their hearts collapsed and their liver was segmented by fear. A fire descended from sky and they all burnt and Salih (a.s) brought his followers to Hazramoot or Palestine.
